ACS KFM MOD Conversion Kit

The Bendix/King KFM 985 FM Transceiver is a compact, panel mounted dual module FM radio. As a standard unit from the factory, the KFM 985 operates on 14VDC, and requires the use of two antennas, even for units which have identical frequency bands on both modules. In an effort to provide a more acceptable version for standard aircraft use, Air Comm Systems developed the ACS KFM MOD, that, when installed, transforms the KFM 985 into a completely new unit.

Any KFM 985 can be modified to incorporate integral 28VDC operation so that no external voltage converter is required. In addition, the unit can also be modified with an RF switching module so that a single antenna can be used for radios with identical frequency bands. The modifications are available separately or combined for operational flexibility.
